Character Designs

Here are some character designs of a character for a book that I'm working on. The top pic shows the old version on the left and the new version on the right. The bottom are some facial studies. I'm really liking this character. Maybe it's because she's a redhead and I'm married to a redhead, so I'm a little bias. Enjoy.

These are great! With so many illustrations of kids out there, it's cool to see that a unique style is still possible. It's something I'm struggling with on some kid designs of my own. Really nice work.

Thanks man. I'm really trying to simplify my style a bit and keep the structure of my characters based on simple shapes. Makes it a lot easier to draw too if you can just draw a square and add eyes to it.
Keep it up though. It's a process. I think it will always be as long as we live.
